How Deserts were formed

When God created earth, he made all beautiful and fertile, so if an animal accidentally dropped a seed, within two to three days, a tall tree, or a magnificent bush with the choicest berries would sprout. However, with these plentiful resources, man began to do bad. Fed up, God told the humans that every time they commited some wrongdoing, he would sprinkle a pinch ofsand ina small area called a desert and so make the patch of earth on which it fell so infertile nothing could grow in it, and anything that existed there would immediately wilt

Nobody worried. "After all", they  told each other, "It's just a pinch of sand!"  However, as deed piled upon deed, they began to regret it. Half of the planet was sand! They appealed to God to help them.

He told them, "I cannot take back my curse (like in hindu mythology and folk tales) but I will give you a blessing, everytime you do something good, I will remove a pinch of sand." Relieved, they began to help each other. When there were only small patches of desert left, people began to relax into evil again l. Worried, God created many good spirits crammed into human bodies. They could do only good, not an evil thought could cross their minds. Because of these good souls good and bad keep balanced. Only sometimes does something evil happen extra. Please don't blame it on the cows overeating.
